Pure luxury - awarded five stars by the Welsh Tourist Board in 2005, having been featured in in a  'The Welsh Home' on Channel 4 Wales in January, 2006 , this well-appointed converted chapel provides visitors with top quality accommodation - there are four bedrooms, three bathrooms plus a spacious toilet on the ground floor.

All rooms are carefully designed and filled with beautiful furniture.

The large entrance hall has an upholstered bench and a set of large glossy wardrobes for your coats, shoes etc.

The hall leads to a modern and simple piano-black kitchen that is fully equipped with Neff & Zanussi stainless steel units plus sinks with splash-backs.

The kitchen features a large oval white gloss and glass table from Italy, together with eight chrome & leather chairs to provide stylish comfort for diners.

Adjacent to the dining area is a ground floor toilet in Italian marble and Villeroy & Boch fittings. There is also a utility room with a washing machine. The utility room features a suspended and a floor-standing clothes dryer.

The sitting room has one large sofa sitting 3/4, one double sofa, two arm-chairs, one large upholstered stool and two additional chairs with leather pads. There are two coffee tables and a large console with drawers.

Both the dining and sitting areas' cabinets are filled with books, videos, DVDs, games and toys for all ages. There's also a quality hi-fi system and a games console (plus cartridges)

A hand-made steel staircase leads to the first floor open landing. The landing features a double luxury sofa and commands an impressive view over the river, the fields and mountains.

A corridor leads to two en-suite bedrooms; the larger one is a suite with a king-size bed and dressing area while the other features two single beds. Painted  in shades of white and fitted with furniture of the same colour, the bedrooms are designed to make guests feel serene and relaxed. Both bathrooms are tiled in marble and polished slate, with showers in both, There are two basins and a bidet in the suite bedroom.

On the second floor you will again find a mezzanine landing with an armchair, leading to two wonderful bedrooms with king-size beds and leather upholstery. The colour scheme here is natural, soft creams and browns to complement the greenery outside the windows. The woodland around the chapel is covered in bluebells each May and the trees provide a multi-coloured, earthly-tone display during autumn.

For variety, we placed a semi-oval bath into a porcelain & Ideal Standard - fitted bathroom for the second floor. The bathroom is fully tiled and the window allows guests to admire the trees from the window whilst taking a bath.

What is Capel Maentwrog?

Now fully reconstructed this stunning and elegant building is a wonderful piece of North Wales' heritage...

An early 19th century Calvinistic Chapel that was used for more than 150 years as a place of worship, the Chapel was very popular with local residents and saw a number of wedding ceremonies taking place.

Sadly, the building started deteriorating in the 1980's and was completely derelict by early 2000. The only salvaged piece of internal decoration is the now the white painted, mahogany ceiling rose, which enhances the beauty of the nine metres high lounge.

The full reconstruction started in January. 2002 and was completed by May. 2005.

During the 41 month project, the Chapel was stripped to its stone shell, which was then reinforced, underpinned and insulated. A new roof was constructed and tiled. New floors were created and a custom-made staircase now unites the three levels. Once a rectangular, open plan building with a suspended ceiling rose, the Chapel now has a variety of luxurious rooms: bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, utility, etc., all of which are kept snug and warm using an under-floor central heating system.

To preserve the feeling of airiness and lightness, as well as the building's good acoustics, the front of the property has been left open plan in a mezzanine format.

There are two suspended landings on the first and second floors, each of which commands magnificent views over the valley and the surrounding mountains.

In the latter stages of the project, all the groundwork, including a disabled access ramp, was prepared and new stone walls erected. The area around the building was covered with paving slabs and a new fire escape was added.

The main and side gates are hand made and incorporate pieces of the original railing.
